ERI is an AASHTO certified FWD Calibration Center. We offer a SHRP Calibration Program for FWDs at our facility in Savoy (Illinois), and perform the SHRP calibration on:
• Carl Bro FWD
• Dynatest FWD
• JILS FWD
• KUAB FWD
ERI’s SHRP Calibration Program includes reference and relative calibration of sensors (Seismometers/Geophones) and calibration of load cells in accordance with AASHTO R 32, Standard Recommended Practice for Calibrating the Load Cell and Deflection Sensors for a Falling Weight Deflectometer.
Benefits
• Calibration of both the load cell and the deflection sensors provides a means of comparison of results from different FWD types and manufacturers.
• Calibration ensures consistency in the data collection among various agency FWDs.
• Calibration improves the accuracy of pavement layer moduli derived from FWD data by means of back-calculation and other interpretive methods.
